Creating Choices

​​​Having been bedridden with cancer, Sue knows firsthand that life is way too short to spend it feeling miserable and stuck. She wants to help people learn how to find a way out and create caring, meaningful relationships they can hold dear.

Through counseling and psychotherapy, Sue helps individuals and couples learn how to be receptive to their inner voice in order to change what is not working for them. With new found clarity of mind and peace of heart, clients learn they can make decisions and choices that allow them to better get their needs met, to reconnect with their loved ones, and to pursue their lives with joy and vitality.


Sue has a Master of Arts Degree in Clinicial Psychology from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) in the State of Texas, license number 65850. She has certification as an Anger Resolution Therapist™ from The Center for Anger Resolution, Inc., and has training in hypnotherapy, somatic work, and breathwork. She has participated in two externships on Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.


Sue has worked in the behavioral healthcare profession in the greater Galveston County - Clear Lake area since 2001 in residential treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, day-hospital for patients with mental illness, and in private practice. Her clinical experience involves individual, couples, and relationship issues, communication breakdown, infidelity, emotional affairs, depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood abuse and neglect, stress management, and meditation and mindfulness. Her theoretical approach to psychotherapy and counseling is based on client-centered, experiential modalities and systems orientation.


​​Sue feels strongly about giving back to the community and has made numerous presentations to colleagues and the general public on Emotional Mastery, Polarity Thinking, the Enneagram, and Integral/Developmental theories. She is a past mentor to other counseling professionals through the National Addiction Technology Transfer Center – Leadership Program, sponsored by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Resources, and past Community Liaison for The Bay Area Mental Health Providers in Clear Lake, Houston. She is now resides in Austin.
